– Kelly Fitzsimmons, Light Up Your Holidays Owner
Giving Back to Our Community
My name is Kelly e. Fitzsimmons and I’m an interior decorator and holiday lighting designer in the Chicagoland area. I have been decorating homes for Christmas for almost two decades. For my entire adult life, I have been moved to donate my money, time and expertise to lend a hand, and heart, to those less fortunate.
I am inspired by the idea that if my holiday lighting community of clients all give just a little and I match it, then collectively we can make a greater impact by using my company as a vehicle for change. I wanted to make it as easy as possible so my Matching Donation Giving Initiative was born.
Every year, I offer my clients the opportunity to contribute to this effort and I match each donation, dollar for dollar. It’s easy and the impact is tremendous. My goal is to use my decorating service company to be of service to others in our community.
Non-Profits we have had the honor of working with:
Two of the group homes I work with are Boys Hope Girls Hope. These are smart kids who are determined to make something of themselves. They have excellent academic abilities, yet, because of their situation, were not able to thrive to their full potential. Through our Matching Donation Giving Initiative, we encourage them and let them know people care about them by collaborating on a lighting design and providing basic necessities like socks and toothpaste and pens.
They are so happy to be involved and see the results of their design come to life! It may sound simple, but lighting up these homes has had a powerful impact on the residents.
Boys Hope Girls Hope
Please take the time to watch this video on Boys Hope Girls Hope. A project started in hopes of providing a future to the youth in need. Young adults are challenged everyday without the support of others, trying to make it in today’s world. We do our best to support them during the year by giving back and decorating their homes, providing them with the tools necessary to succeed, and more. We hope you take the time to read about this wonderful group who deserves the world. Please read more here!
